free at last
Dear Dave and Penni,
I wrote you and ordered a few books back in
August. These books (Crisis of
Conscience, Combatting Cult Mind Control, and Apocalypse Delayed)
have helped us finalize our stand. Along
with talking out many feelings with other
friends . . . we sent in our letter of disassociation this week.
The local body of elders . . . approached us
last week and had a judicial committee
all wound up to investigate us on charges
of apostasy. (My wife has a craft business. She rents a
small space in this store to sell her
product. She decorated the booth with
a winter scene. This winter scene was
seen as a Christmas setting. Charges were
brought up to us as apostasy.) We cracked up. They were intent
on finding something to get rid of us. We
were certainly not going to go through
the kangaroo court, so we sent in our letter. (no honorable
way out.)
Anyway, I thought you would get a chuckle out of
that. We are going through some fall out
but not to bad. We have each other and our son
who also left 2 months ago. We are burnt
out with religion right now and need a
break to heal. We love God and want to serve Him, and I know
when the time is right, He will show us
the way. Thank you so much for your cyber
space ministry. You were my first contact when I started my
search back in April.
Your research helped us to see the other side of
the issue. We will always be grateful for
that. If we can do anything to help you,
please let us know. May God continue to bless you and your wife.
Sincerely, Marc,
Bobbie, and Noel Hebert
