Oops! . . . On page 63, the
Watchtower book Jehovah's
Witnesses in the Divine Purpose
claims the Society never published a
biography of Pastor Russell, because
it would have been wrong to do that:

But on page 17 the same book makes the mistake
of quoting from that biography and referencing it in the footnotes
--accidentally revealing that the claim on page 63 is a lie.

ANOTHER DECEPTION involves the Watchtower's use of Johannes Greber
seven times in articles and books from 1962 through 1976, primarily to
support the New World Translation's rendering of John 1:1. When the
Society's critics discovered Greber's involvement with spirit mediums and
publicized it The Watchtowerof April 1, 1983 announced on page 31 that
it too had discovered Greber's spiritistic connections and so stopped citing
him for support.

Actually, however the JW leaders knew about Greber
all along and used him for support during the 1960's and
'70's in spite ofa February 15, 1956 Watchtowerarticle
(p. 111) warning against his translation and his book
Communication with the Spirit-World.
